However, like most NCSOFT games of its era, the translation and voice acting are less than stellar. BnS NEO Divine Gems keeps the original voice acting and script, so nothing has changed here. Which is a shame, because the narrative of Blade and Soul is at least moderately compelling and unlike whatever else is on the market, so it could keep players interested — as I played the Japanese version of the game long enough to compare notes, back in the day. It feels like a huge missed opportunity with the Western market’s interest in traditional Chinese storytelling.
But that is largely my biggest complaint with Blade and Soul Neo, outside of NCSOFT’s continued issue with bots and gold sellers on their servers. This isn’t unique to Blade and Soul Neo, as it’s also a persistent issue with Throne and Liberty, and was at one point so infamous in Lineage II that it was even reported on in GameInformer in the mid-00’s.
This problem has followed NCSOFT through its multiple new releases, and is still one in Blade and Soul Neo. General and Trade chats are drowned out by gold sellers, bots populate areas, interfering with the idea of existing with others in a shared digital space. At the very least, I can say that this was true to the launch experience of Blade and Soul in North America and Europe. Which I have a Founder’s Pack of, thanks to my partner, who at one point let me use his Chinese ID to register for a QQ account and play in 2014 after it was released in that region. (As you can probably tell, I was really into Blade and Soul. At the very least, the idea of it.)
Buy BnS Classic Divine Gems is more or less the starting experience veteran players would have had on release. There are only a handful of classes, each limited to specific races the Gon, Jin, Yun, and Lyn, each based on the Four Guardians in Chinese folklore. I wouldn’t say any race has any specific advantage, outside of what classes they have access to. This impacts your cosmetics above anything else, and how little clothing you want to wear.
This was confirmed on flow yesterday. Diablo IV Gold boasted a transmorg system so you might look however that did not cost anything and you wanted. But what if Diablo 4 replaces that with paid"decorations" or something. This...wouldn't be great. Diablo 4 finally began experimenting with selling things but nothing really stuck. It's possible these microtransactions could be fine and nothing, or else they may be a direct step down from previous games. We are going to see.
Sure, it was a team effort, however, it had been under his leadership, and just like many other people, he has left Blizzard. And if you wish to go farther back, the manager of Diablo 4, David Brevik, has not been Blizzard since 2003. Diablo 4's director is Luis Barriga, who comes over from World of Warcraft and while he is perfectly good, it does feel significant that the elderly supervisors are nowhere to be found for this new setup.
Following is a quote about new legendary and set equipment in Diablo from Barriga:"There's a staff legendary in the demo that turns [the charm ] fireball to a triple fireball spell. The difference might be that a set at the moment in dwell Diablo 4 gives bonuses more in the thousands to you. I think we are designing the game now to be a little bit more restricted to avoid getting us into this super sonic electricity curve."
But I do worry about the idea of"restricted" legendary and put equipment perks in a match such as this, within the enjoyment of Diablo is going as nuts as possible with assembles, then cranking up the problem so large that constrains you, not the design of these products. Believe me, because I want Diablo 4 to become amazing, I want to be paranoid here. But on day one here, as soon as you get past the initial hype of the existence of the buy D4 Gold game in any way, I believe there are a few essential concerns to be raised here, and I am looking forward to seeing more from Blizzard (and playing a closed alpha, perhaps.) Sometime shortly.
